Led by Youth started off with a fundraiser for the Wuhan Coronavirus. Students attending schools in the United States, Canada, Korea, and China propagated campaigns in their schools and on social media to help spread the idea of helping out to fight against the coronavirus. In only two weeks, we successfully raised over $5000 and gained over 3000 supporters on our WeChat page. We realized we had more potential than we thought, so we decided to take a step further and make this campaign a non-profit organization. We hope that we can reach out to the world not just for once during the coronavirus but whenever the community needs us. After the success of the Wuhan project, we have been actively working on several other initiatives, including Sri Lanka human-elephant conflict, coastal reconstruction in NYC, and mangrove restoration in Thailand. We hope to engage with young people to make changes on a wide range of social, political, and environmental issues worldwide through raising funds, educating the public, and raising people’s awareness within our diverse school communities.
